POSITIVE DRIVE FINS
Details
Details
The Positive Drive Fins (PDF's) use a unique ellipsoidal blade to generate correct propulsion in all four swim strokes. The asymmetrical blade design allows the swimmer to build power while promoting a natural inward supination kick style for butterfly, backstroke and freestyle. The PDF's use an ergonomic foot pocket to comfortably place feet in an ideal swimming position. The heel strap secures the fin, allowing feet to flex more naturally. A closed toe design provides superior energy transfer from leg to foot. The PDF's will increase leg strength, foot speed and ankle flexibility for all four swim strokes, making the fins great for individual medley training.

I have been using the PDF since the early years and I must confess I have never used a more comfortable and effective swim aid. Swimming is my sport passion. I always return to it. Swimming is the one form of exercise that I can come back to again and again, through fads, trends, and changinig times. I enjoy cross training and participating in many types of land sports. In doing so, sometimes I sustain an injury, and I return to the pool for healing and rejuvenation. If I've been a few months away, which can be the case through the holidays, come early spring I return to the water, my old friend. At this time, the PDF's help me back into a good hydrodynamic rhythm and glide, letting my shoulders ease into the load very gradually over the first few weeks. This is vital for me at 57. Once my training starts to pick up and I am gaining strength and form, the PDF's continue to tune my stroke, lengthen my reach, and extend my hydrodynamics. I use the PDF's for all strokes, free, back, breast, and fly. Especially for the fly! The PDF's honestly get me back to a swimmig form faster than any other swim aid I have used. For me, they are the single best fitness tool I can bring when I travel, even more important than my running shoes. If I had to choose between my goggles and my PDF's, well, there is no question. And they are so compact too! Oh, and the absolute best for open water, especially when there is a light to moderate chop, which there always seems to be:. As a former competitive swimmer and now a seasonal lifefitness swimmer, PDF's so comfortably enhance my technique, enable my tempo and fitness level, and increase the safety level of my openwater swimming. IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED THESE, DO YOURSELF AND YOUR SWIMMING A FAVOR, TRY THEM! I AM A 61 YEAR OLD FITNESS LAP SWIMMER WHO LOVES FINS. I STARTED OUT MANY YEARS AGO WITH ZOOMERS BLUE, [THE FIRST VERSION], LOVED THEM...AND THEN, OUT OF CURIOSITY, STARTED TRYING OTHERS: I BOUGHT THE POSITIVE DRIVE FINS BECAUSE I WAS INTRIGUED BY THE SHAPE. THEY HAD JUST COME OUT AND CAME ONLY IN AN ORANGE SHERBET COLOR! I LOVED THEM BUT HAD TO TRY OTHERS TOO: HYDRO TRAINING FINS I GOT AT THE SPORTING GOODS STORE[NOT GOOD], THEN GOT NEOPRENE POCKET FINS, NOT COMFORTABLE; THEN GOT FORCE FINS[$100!] AT THE URGING OF A FELLOW LAP SWIMMER. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. EACH NEW SET OF FINS ENDED UP IN THE BACK OF MY CLOSET AND I WENT BACK TO THESE PDFS. THEY ARE THE BEST. HAVE HAD THEM AT LEAST 10 YEARS AND THEY ARE AS GOOD AS WHEN I BOUGHT THEM. THEY ARE CHEAP, EASY TO TRANSPORT, AND JUST AS ADVERTISED. ALL STROKE FINS FOR ALL SWIMMERS! BUY THEMYOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

I have been using these fins a year ago and had a knee injury with it. I found out that many people also had injury doing the breastroke kick with it. However, it is good when developing other strokes other than breastroke kick. I would recommend the finis Z2 zoomers for those wishing to develop a stronger and more powerful kick to propel you.

I didn't know which fins to buy for my swim training but when I saw these and put them on, it was magical. After using them and then taking them off again, they make you feel as if your feet were fins too though very light and comfortable. They increase the resistance but that is done on purpose so that you force yourself to go faster with them on and being able to maintain that force and speed when taking them off. Excellent material. Love it so much!

The reduced size of the fins have enabled me to use them more frequently in my workouts. I've also been able to incorporate them into my IM sets since I can use them for breaststroke kick, too. I now prefer them to standard fins as they are shorter, stiffer, and more responsive. I get a better feel for my kick with them.

I use Positive Drive Fins for kick sets in over half of my workouts. My masters colleagues and I love them for their use on ALL strokes. They improve ankle flexibility and drive while working the legs, without providing too much extra propulsion. I have recommended the Jr. sizes for my young agegroupers to help with the breaststroke kick. Ease of fit and comfort are superior to other conventional fins. They are a core training accessory.

The fins themselves are great. Love that they can be used for all strokes. I feel like they are truly geared to more intermediate rather than novice level swimmers even though they come in smaller sizes. My only complaint is that if they need to be resized it is not a quick and easy process and most kids need help doing it even in the 1112 range.

I love these fins. I feel I get great feedback from them when doing flutter or fly kick. Because my foot sits into a loose pocket I'm able to feel the upbeat and downbeat of the kick more clearly. This encourages better technique. And the stroke they're really designed for, breaststroke. Well it took awhile getting comfortable using fins for this but now I lo ve how the blade on the outside of the foot encourages me to catch and hold the water through my kick

I am a long time competitive swimmer now in the Masters Swimming program. I have tried and used many fins over the years and these are my favorite for swim practice. I use them for free, back and fly. I don't use them for breaststroke my best stroke because even these short fins put too much stress on the knees. But for the other strokes, they are great for kick sets and for speed sets. Today I used them to swim 10 x 75 Fly and felt wonderful. They are just long enough to give you a speed boost without messing up the stroke timing. They are also very comfortable. They do NOT rub or give me blisters or sore spots like many other fins have done. Great fins. My favorite.

Must have in your training bag!
I love these fins! They really are building strength in my legs and I'm not lost when I swim without them. They aren't heavy and allow me to do all four strokes effectively while training.

PDF must stand for Pretty Dope Fins
PDF must stand for Pretty Dope Fins, am I right or am I right?? Not only did I swim super fast and correctly while wearing these suckers, but my self-confidence was also at an all time high because of how cool they made me look. Thanks FINIS!

Pure awesomeness
I used these fins now for 3 years, I swim all year around in lakes, rivers and Ocean and these are the best fins I ever used. Small so you can have a high tempo if you want but big enough to give you the extra help. In 3 years with hundreds of swims the rubber is still going strong.

Knee injury recovery
Highly recommend. Long time swimmer. Bought these fins to help recover from partially torn leg muscle. The fins helped with buoyancy and allowed me to slowly increase the use of my legs while swimming. Now fully recovered I still use these fins throughout my entire multi-stroke swim. Best and most comfortable fins made!
